Egypt: Interior Minister Orders to Open Tahrir Square

Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim ordered that Qasr el-Einy Street that leads to Tahrir Square in downtown be re-opened and a concrete wall that was placed in the street be removed.

Falaki Street that leads to Mohamed Mahmoud St. will be also opened, according to the minister who gave his directions during a meeting on Monday 3/2/2014 with police senior officials.

All fortifications that have been built around police premises will be reconsidered in a way that would alleviate suffering of citizens who reside in the vicinity of these installations, he added.
