Gambia: GY Pioneer Praises President Jammeh's Excellent Development Strides

One of the pioneers of the Green Boys and Girls, dubbed 'Green Youths' Movement, has praised President Jammeh for what he described as his excellent development strides in the transformation of The Gambia into a modern country. Pa Dodou Njie, who left The Gambia for Germany, shortly after the formation of the Green Boys and Girls Movement some weeks before The Gambia hosted the African Union summit in 2006, returned to the country recently.

During an interview with this reporter on Monday, Njie expressed his bona fide membership in the Green Youth (GY) movement and his loyalty to President Jammeh and the APRC party. "I am still a Jammeh loyalist, because he made me receive my first salary in 1998," he revealed.
