Nigeria: 22 Dead As Gunmen Attack Plateau Again

Abuja — GUNMEN have reportedly killed 22 people during an overnight attack in Mavo village in Wase local government area, Plateau State.

Villagers early Thursday morning and randomly opened fire. Witnesses reported that more than ten houses burnt down.

Interim Administrator of the local government, Zakari Haruna confirmed the attack but declined to disclose the casualty figures but confirmed houses had been burnt.

He said peace had meanwhile been restored to the community.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Felicia Anslem also confirmed the attack but said she was yet to be fully briefed on the extent of damage.

Gunmen earlier this week killed scores of people in similar attacks in the same state.
