Demand for water in the Coast region is expected to increase by 35 per cent by the year 2035, Coast water master plan report has shown. The master plan for Coast Water and Sewerage Board that was prepared by international consultancy companies; Tahal group and Bhundia Associates, shows the demand might bring water scarcity in the region.
According to the plan, the demand will be pushed up by the growing number of industries and population. The current water demand is expected to rise to 624,054 in two-decades up from 221, 406 cubic metres currently demanded in the region.
