Nigeria: India's Beyond Squarefeet to Manage Nigeria's Largest Mall

India's first mall management company, Beyond Squarefeet, is to manage 'Ado Bayero Mall', described as the first ultra-modern shopping mall in Kano, northern Nigeria, and the largest mall in the country.

Alpine Investment Services, through a special purpose vehicle known as Beverly Development & Realties Limited is developing the mall, named after the city's longest serving monarch, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr). The developer has created and implemented the best international infrastructure, systems and equipment.

It is currently under fit-outs and is slated to open soon with the key anchors, such as Shoprite and Game, a family entertainment centre, multiplex etc. The mall will offer international shopping experience and international cuisines to its customers.

Mohammed Hayatu-Deen says, "In our goal to create a mall of international stature, we have put in the best available resources and service providers to ensure that this would become a benchmark for all upcoming malls not only in Nigeria, but in West Africa."

Siddharth Sahgal, mall mechanic and chief managing officer at Beyond Squarefeet, adds,"Having worked with more than 20 malls in Asia, we are now establishing ourselves in developing markets of North and Western Africa. Our international exposure in mall management will help us in creating landmark and successful malls in these markets. Our intention is to create maximum returns for both the stake holders and retailers, while keeping in mind the socio-economic factors too."
