Egypt: Mamish - 54 Ship Carrying Four Million Tons Transit Suez Canal

Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Mohab Mamish said on Friday 07/02/2014 that 54 ships have transited the Suez Canal carrying a total cargo of 4 million tons.
Mamish noted that this figure represents unprecedented record in the history of the Suez Canal, which refers to improvement of the Egyptian economy. He pointed out that this fact stresses that the canal is completely safe.
Mamish stressed that the Armed Forces and security forces are playing their role to protect vessels transiting the Canal. He thanked all workers in the Suez Canal Authority for their relentless efforts for the sake of their homeland.
