Angola: Economist Discusses Diversification of Economy

The diversification of national economy, based on the increase of investment in agriculture and fisheries sectors, is one of the topics discussed in the book "Pensar Angola Agora", launched Friday, here, by the Angolan economist, Afonso Chipepe.

The 197-page book where the author analyses the distinct component of Angolan economic mosaic, with stress to the oil sector, responsible for 97 percent of exportations and 80 percent of the country's tax revenue, agriculture and fisheries, these last mentioned in the book as "important" for the diversification of the national economy.

Speaking to the media, the author recognized the economic changes registered in the country since the end of the armed conflict and stresses that it was this factor (economic changes) which inspired him to write the book.
