Nigeria: Court Orders Police Corporal to Pay N10 Million for Raping Two-Year Old

The judiciary Tuesday sent a strong message to rapists and pedophiles in the country as a Nasarawa State High Court ordered the Inspector General of Police and a rapist ,Police Corporal, Mr Anthony Onoja, to pay a two- year rape victim, baby Chinwendu Obi Onwudiwe N10million for exemplary damages.

For 70 minutes that the judgement lasted at the Nassarawa State High Court 5, Mararaba ,the trial judge,Justice A. Asmau said she was convinced beyond reasonable doubt that the respondents in the case (IGP and Corporal Onoja) infringed on baby Chinwendu's fundamental rights.
