Egypt Court Sentences Man to 190 Years Over 18 Cases

Cairo — Luxor's criminal court sentenced a man to 190 years in prison on Tuesday over 18 cases where he is accused of murder, robbery and drug possession.

Authorities arrested Yasser Abdel Qader, known as "al-Hamboly", last February after he escaped prison during the security vacuum that followed the 2011 uprising.

The defendant was charged with murder, robbery, abduction among other things. Hamboly was a criminal for 13 years before the authorities captured him.
