Kenya: Jubilee Unveils Cheap Life Insurance Cover

A new life insurance cover targeting low income earners has been launched to cushion families in the event of death of a bread winner.

Jubilee Insurance which commands the second largest market share in life insurance premiums after British American Insurance, has teamed up with Citadel Micro Insurance and Umande Trust to provide and distribute this life insurance cover.

Premiums for the low cost insurance launched range from Sh450 to Sh4150 per year and will be paid through Safaricom's M-Pesa mobile money transfer service.

The cover will be distributed by Umande Trust which has a vast network in the grassroots and close access to the low income groups of people.
