Somalia: Al-Shabaab Militants Ambush Amisom Convoy in Mogadishu

At least one person was killed and four civilians were injured Tuesday evening (February 11th) when al-Shabaab militants ambushed an African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) convoy heading to the Suqa Holaha area in Mogadishu, Somalia's Dalsan Radio reported.

AMISOM troops rebuffed the attack firing heavy weapons, and secured the area after the militants fled. The afternoon attack lasted for about an hour, residents told Somali Current. AMISOM and Somali government officials did not comment on the attack.
