Nigeria: Police Officers Weep As Mbu Leaves Rivers

Port Harcourt — Officers and men of the Rivers State Police Command yesterday wept as the former police commissioner, Joseph Mbu Joseph, left Port Harcourt. Mbu was redeployed to Abuja and replaced with Tunde Ogunsakin who was until his redeployment the Commissioner of Police in charge of Anti-fraud unit in Lagos.

Shortly after the handing over ceremony, Mbu mounted the rostrum to take the departure parade. Immediately after the parade and he was about to drive out of the command headquarters, some officers and men who had gathered at the parade ground broke down in tears. A sobbing female officer told our reporter that Mbu was very generous and kind to them.
