Tunisia: Ben Jaafar Received By European Parliament President

Brussels — National Constituent Assembly (NCA) President Mustapha Ben Jaafar was received, on Thursday in Brussels, by President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz.

The latter asserted on the occasion that the Tunisian new Constitution lays the foundations of a democracy based on respect and co-existence between the various components of the society.

Mr. Ben Jaafar said during the meeting that "Tunisia counts today on its national potential but it also needs preferential partnership with the European Union based on a win-win principle."

He called for setting up an EU-Tunisia joint parliamentary commission.

A parliamentary delegation led by the NCA President is on a visit to Brussels, on February 12-13.
