Angola: Preparations for Census Going Smoothly - Minister

Luanda - The preparations for the countrywide Population and Housing Census that will be held as from May 16 this year in Angola are going smoothly, Angop learned Friday in Luanda.

The information was released by the minister of Planning and Territory Development, Job Graça.

The minister was speaking to the press on the fringes of the first ordinary session of the Cabinet Council's Real Economy Commission of this year chaired by the vice president of the Republic, Manuel Domingos Vicente.

"A participation of the entities linked to the preparation of the act, in the technological, logistical and training is total in this last phase of the process, so that when the time comes the Population and Housing Census can start," said the official .

The Population and Housing Census, one of Angolan Government's most relevant tasks for the May 16-31 period this year, will be conducted by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

To this end, the Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, inaugurated last week a new INE building in Luanda.
