Somalia: Heavy Confrontations Between Government Troops and Alshabab Fighters At the Outskirts of Marka Town

Marka — News reports from Marka town located in the lower Shabelle region of Somalia have confirmed to Shabelle radio station in Mogadishu that a heavy fighting broke up between Government troops and Alshabab fighters at a location between Dhanane and Gandarshe which is approximated to be around 20 km of the port town.
The casualties caused by todays heavy fighting between the two fighting groups has not yet been established yet.
The fighting follows after Alshabab fighters regained Gandarshe town on Friday evening but left hours after they conquered the government troops.
