Somalia: Bakol Administration Addresses the Media On the Arrival of Ethiopian Troops in the Region

El Barde — The district commissioner of Hudur district Mohamed Malim Ahmed told Shabelle radio station in Mogadishu that his administration is aware of operations conducted by Ethiopian troops aided by Government troops in some parts of Bakol region including Hudur district which is an Alshabab stronghold.

Mr. Mal'alim reiterated that the troops have not yet encountered any resistance from Alshabab fighters as for now but did not rule out the mission to regain large parts of the region from the rebel Alshabab fighters who control the region in coming few days.

The district commissioner finally stated that their main aim is to regain the parts of the region in a peaceful manner.

Ethiopian troops who are part of the AMISOM peacekeeping forces in Somalia have started their mission in some parts of Bakool region in efforts to widen the Government control in the remaining parts of the country which are in the hands of Somalia
