Kenya: Motorists to Pay More for Fuel, Kerosene Drops

Motorists countrywide will pay more at the pump today after the energy regulator raised the upper cap on super petrol and diesel for the third consecutive month. Diesel will cost Sh1.07 more per litre for the next one month while super petrol has gone up by 96 cents a litre.

The maximum pump prices of the fuels in Nairobi are now Sh111.55 and Sh105.80 per litre each for petrol and diesel respectively. Poor households have emerged the biggest gainers in the latest review, as the Energy Regulatory Commission on Friday reverted back the price of kerosene to December level. A litre of kerosene will cost Sh2 less, handing consumers a reprieve till the next review on March 14.
