Kenya: Malombe to Honour Pledges

KITUI Governor Julius Malombe has said he will fulfill the campaign pledges he made to residents. He said in a month's time the county will roll out massive infrastructural projects.

Malombe said he has been busy putting in place proper structures and systems for the projects. He was speaking on Saturday during the burial of former Kisasi senior chief Josphat Muasya at Kamulu village in Kanzauwu location.

Malombe said he is keen to fulfil his campaign pledges as he does not thrive on empty talk. "There have been questions why I have not gone round after the elections. However, because of the pledges I made to you, I chose to get down to planning and setting up the necessary structures for service delivery rather than come to you with empty words," he said.

Malombe said by May, he will tour the county to launch new projects or hand over completed ones. He said implementation of county plans will begin next month.

"When I took over the county government, there was nothing. I immediately embarked on setting up structures and systems for effective and efficient service delivery. All that has been accomplished and we are set to start real work," Malombe said.
