Nigeria: Man, Pregnant Wife Die in Makurdi Fire

Makurdi — A man and his pregnant wife were yesterday burnt to death in an early morning fire that engulfed their resident at Akpehe, near Wurukum in Makurdi town, Benue State.

Sunday Trust gathered that the fire, suspected to have started due to electrical fault about 1:00am, razed the residence of the couple, identified as Raymond Avaans', killing them in the process. The house was owned by an aide to the former governor of the state, Senator George Akume.
