South Africa: Agang SA Turns a Year Old Today

press release

Mamphela Ramphele stood at the Constitutional Court and launched the platform, Agang SA. February 18, 2013 was the beginning of Agang SA - started as a political platform - to bring hope and to restore the promise of freedom. Citizen Mamphela Ramphele is speaking to the hearts of those who are living like forgotten people, those who are discouraged and those who are dreamers of a country to be proud of, one we can proudly hand over to the next generation.

Ramphele announced that she was working with a group of fellow South Africans to form a party political platform, focusing on the reduction of a fragmented political landscape and to "realign politics."

"This party political platform will declare war on corruption. It will work with all those in civil society as well as individual citizens and dedicated public servants who share our concerns to fight this scourge"
