Namibia: City Police Robber Gets Five Years in Prison

A FORMER Windhoek City Police officer faces five years in prison as a result of a robbery in which he stole a firearm and ammunition from an office of his employer two years ago.

Police officers are employed to protect the public and their property, and they are expected to serve with dedication and honesty, Magistrate Sarel Jacobs remarked when he sentenced former City Police officer Desmond Kurtz in the Windhoek Regional Court on Friday last week.
