Cameroon: Enthusiastic Welcome for Presidential Couple

Tuesday February 18, 2014 will remain a remarkable day to scores of people living along towns leading to the Regional Headquarter of the South West Region, Buea. On this day inhabitants of Tiko, Likomba, Mutengene, Mile 14, Bolifamba, Mile 17 and other towns leading to Buea where overwhelmed with joy as they saw the Presidential Limousine carrying President Paul Biya and Wife Chantal Biya drive past.

President Paul Biya and Wife, had just landed at the historic Tiko Airport from a helicopter in what many could termed the pinnacle of events leading to the 50th Anniversary of the Reunification of Cameroon come Thursday, February 20, 2014 . After the spectacle welcomed, the Presidential Couple drove over a 20 kilometre road from Tiko to their residence in Buea. Songs from the different regions of the country, shouts of joy, special greetings and the waving of the country's flag as well as the effigy of President Paul Biya and Madame accompanied the Presidential convey from Tiko passing through Likomba, Mutengene, Mile 14, Bolifamba and Mile 17 to the Government Residential Area (GRA) where the Presidential Residence is located.
