Gambia: Energy Minister Teneng Ba Jaiteh Removed

President Yahya Jammeh has relieved Teneng Ba Jaiteh of her cabinet appointment, a statement issued by the presidency announced Monday night.

Though no reason was given for her removal, this is not the first time she has been relieved of her duties.

Ms Jaiteh, it would be noted, was reappointed as Minister of Energy in September last year, just one month after she was relieved of her cabinet appointment.

Currently, in addition to Energy, the portfolios of Minister of Information and of Higher Education are all vacant.
