Western Sahara: Sahara Marathon 14th Edition Presented in Madrid

The 14th Edition of the Sahara Marathon, to be held in the Saharawi refugee camps on the eve of the commemoration of the 38th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the SADR, was presented Thursday in Madrid.

In a joint press conference with the Polisario Front representative in Spain, Bushraya Beyun, the coordinator of the Sahara Marathon, Diego Muñoz, explained that the purpose of this race held in the Sahrawi refugee camps is make the suffering of the Saharawi people known in different parts of the world.

It is also revealed runners from 25 countries in different continents will take part on Monday in the event in solidarity with the Saharawi people.

In the race which is organised under the slogan "For respect of human rights in occupied territories of Western Sahara," 400 athletes including 300 foreigners and 100 Sahrawis will participate.
