Egypt: Court Orders University Guards to Return

Cairo — An Egyptian court ordered on Monday that university guards return to work, state television said.

The cabinet decided in October to allow police forces to be deployed outside of universities to search those entering.

Prime Minister Hazem el-Beblawi, who resigned on Monday, had said that the police has the right to intervene when matters get out of control.

Egyptian universities have seen many clashes since the ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Mursi in July.
