My plan was to prolong my brief sabbatical from writing, for a few months more at least. I had become quite bored of it all to be sincere. Events in the polity were becoming ever so predictable with uncanny regularity. I also needed time to recharge my batteries.

But all that changed with the manner of the 'dismissal' - there is no other way to describe his contrived suspension given the fact that his successor was promptly appointed pending senate confirmation of the act - of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, erstwhile CBN Governor, and by far the most daring and audacious Nigerian to occupy the exalted and highly coveted office to date.
