Uganda: Activists Cry Foul As Ugandan Women Are Stripped in Streets

Kampala — Women's rights activists say Uganda's new anti-pornography law is being misinterpreted and encouraging violence against women. There have been several incidents of women being harassed and even undressed by mobs on the streets of the capital since the law was passed this month.

This rash of violence follows the announcement February 19 of a new anti-pornography bill that originally included a dress code banning miniskirts and other revealing clothing.
