Botswana: Poverty Eradication Flagship Programme On Course

press release

The Poverty Eradication Flagship Programme is on course, with a workshop scheduled to take place at Jamataka in the Tonota North Constituency from February 27. Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi, said at a media briefing in Gaborone on Tuesday, February 25, that the workshop, like the previous seven, targeted more than 1 000 eligible beneficiaries of the programme.

He said when the programme began three years ago, there were challenges of comprehensive data generation of people eligible to benefit from and get out of abject poverty. The problem has since been solved, using data from the Department of Social and Community Development, which looked after poverty-stricken people.
