Nigeria: Auto Crash Claims 10 in Jigawa

No fewer than 10 persons were confirmed killed while 12 others sustained serious injuries in a ghastly motor accident yesterday at Sada village along Kazaure- Daura road in Jigawa State.

The accident involved two model F commercial buses, with registration numbers AE 200 TTK IMO and QC 415 EKY Lagos.

The incident occurred when one of the buses was overtaking another vehicle and in the process had a head-on collision with the otherbus.

Confirming the accident the Jigawa State commandant of NSCDC, Dr Muhammad Gidado said the accident claimed 10 lives. He explained that the corpses have been deposited at Kazaure General Hospitol and 12 other who sustained injuries are also receiving treatment in the hospital.

According to him the accident occurred as a result of carelessness while overtaking, he then worn drivers that " time has come to stop taken human lives and destroying property unnecessarily due to recklessness unprofessional/decent pattern of driving.
