Nigeria: Senate Threatens NPA Over 2013 Budget

Lagos — The Senate has threatened to sanction the management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) over non implementation of its 2013 budget. The senate committee on marine transport vowed not to pass the 2014 budget of the NPA in the National Assembly until the agency satisfactorily convinces members on the success level of projects embarked upon with the previous budget.

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Marine Transport, Hajia Zaynab Kure, gave the threat following an alleged refusal of the NPA management to receive embers of the committee when it visited NPA House Marina, Lagos, our correspondent gathered yesterday.
