THE US government will today donate fishing equipment to Kisumu women's groups in Lake Victoria as part of the "No Sex for Fish" campaign. Deputy ambassador Isiah Parnell will lead the American team to donate boats and fishing gear to the groups at Ogenya Beach in Kisumu.
A communication from the US Embassy in Nairobi said the equipment was funded by the US President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. It is aimed at eradicating the "sex for fish" practice in which fishermen exchange fish for sex with businesswomen.
