Uganda: Dialogue Debate Has Been Derailed By Politicians

Since 2011, there have been demands for a National Dialogue from some sections of the opposition and civil society organisations.

Sadly, the debate has been derailed by the fact that both the opposition and the regime treat such a dialogue as a move to defeat or undermine one another. As a result, political emotions have subdued reason and the debate has lost direction. As People's Progressive Party, we wrote to President Museveni about the same subject and went the extra mile to caution him against using violence to solve political issues.
