Angola: Air Force Chief Highlights Govt's Role in Pacification of Continent

The commander of the National Air Force (FAN), general Francisco Lopes Gonçalves Afonso "Hanga" stressed the crucial role played by Angola in the pacification of the continent.

The FAN high ranking officer was speaking at the opening of 2014/2015 Higher School of War (ESG) year on Friday.

According to him, the country's strategic performance in the organisations like African Union (AU), Economic Community of West Africa State (ECOWAS) and Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), allowed the organisations to enhance their responsibilities.

The commander of National Air Force said that the ESG has been a reference in teaching system of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), adding that some friendly countries have it as an example of training of staff.

He called for the need to continue to innovate, increase and diversify the sources of knowledge in the Armed Forces in the region and the continent.
