Somalia: Multiple Explosions in Mogadishu

An explosion with profound consequences to soldiers from the Federal government of Somalia occurred at a road in-between Arafat and Mahad Alle carwash in the Yaaqshiid district of Banaadir region.

This blast is reported to have completely wrecked the pickup truck driven by the soldiers of the Federal government of Somalia that was cruising nearby where the incident took place.

After the detonation, government forces opened gunfire without aim and caused civilians nearby to get hurt.

These troops halted movement of the people and vehicles but resulted in failure to catch the perpetrators responsible for the attack.

On the other hand in Heliwaa district of Banaadir district and IED explosion targeted at an AMISOM convoy that also caused casualties.

The big defence vehicles driven by the African Union's AMISOM soldiers was said to be derelict with the troops sustaining some injuries although they have not been confirmed.
