Ethiopia: World Bank Supports Road Improvements, Maintenance

The World Bank's Board of Executive Directors on February 24,2014, approved funds to help Ethiopia upgrade its road system, strengthen road maintenance and reduce travel time along inter-regional corridors.

The Road Sector Support Project is supported by 320 million dollars as part of 385 million dollars total project cost. The government will contribute 65 million dollars. The project aligns with Ethiopia's growth & transformation plan (GTP) and supports economic expansion by improving the quality of roads serving areas producing exportable agricultural products.
