Kenya: Murang'a Cautioned On Pyramid Schemes
By Jesse Mwangi
Beneficiaries of the Women's Enterprise Fund have been urged to invest wisely and not fall into the trap of pyramid schemes. Murang'a women's representative Sabina Chege said a decade ago women savers lost millions of shillings to such schemes.
She was speaking at Kahatia education hall when she distributed cheques worth Sh39 million to various development groups yesterday. She said her colleagues are pushing for funds to support their activities. "As women's representatives were are pressuring the national government to reserve 1.5 per cent of the budget for us."
