Kenya: Butere MP Launches Sh5 Million Electricity Project

Butere MP Andrew Toboso last Saturday launched a solar lighting project worth Sh5 million in Butere district. He commissioned the building of five electricity masts in Butere town.

"The entire project will take one month to complete because it will require excavation of the foundation ground, erection of the masts and installation of the lights," Toboso said. He said the first phase of the project will cover Bukura, Sabatia, Butere, Mulambo and Shiatsala.

The second phase will cover Lunza, Shitsitswi, Samansi and Marenyo shopping centres. Toboso said every business centre in the district will have security lights. "We want boda boda operators and women who sell vegetables in shopping centres in the district to carry out their business without fear," he said.
