Kenya: Viola Karuri Supports Costly Music Videos

Afro-soul singer Viola Karuri defended artistes who spend "millions" in music videos. She told Word Is, "Let's not beat around the bush, we, musicians, actors and all manner of creatives, want to play on the international stage"

She added, "To compete, we have to provide international quality work otherwise you won't be given the time of day. Most often than not, in this MTV/Channel O/YouTube era, musicians are judged by their videos and not just their songs."
