Kenya: MCA Accuses Gachagua

NYERI Kirimukuyu ward representative Kibera Ngunyi has complained Governor Nderitu Gachagua harrassed him. He said Gachagua directed that he be arrested at a meeting at Karogoto Coffee Factory on Wednesday.

Ngunyi was speaking in the house yesterday. Ngunyi said the governor personally shouted at him to shut up when he was addressing the farmers and incited his supporters against him, forcing him to cut his speech.

Ngunyi, who is the assembly agriculture committee chairman was briefly arrested and later released. Majority leader Mwangi Kibuu condemned the incident and said dictatorial tendencies have to end. Gachagua could not immediately deny or confirm the allegations.
