Namibia: Frank Fredericks Foundation Donates Sports Equipment

Windhoek — The Frank Fredericks Foundation (FFF) reaffirmed its commitment towards the development of sports in Namibia when it made a once-off donation of sports equipment to a school in the Kunene Region last Friday.

Braunfels Agricultural School located near Khorixas were the proud recipients of sports equipment valued at N$10 000. The equipment will be used for regular athletics, netball and soccer training and competitions in the region. The equipment was received by Assens Malubano, who was very delighted to receive the donation on behalf of the school. "We are very thankful to receive this generous sponsorship. We will have our first athletics competition in the first weekend of March, where we plan to make use of equipment" he remarked. Handing over the equipment, FFF Trustee Dr Anibal Rego encouraged the school to make good use of the equipment since it is a once off donation. "Therefore, the equipment should be used wisely to benefit the development of sports in the region," Dr Rego said. The Frank Fredericks Foundation was launched in 1999 by Prime Minister Hage Geingob. The foundation was a way for Frank Fredericks to thank the people of Namibia for their support throughout his athletics career. The foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to young talented athletes in Namibia.
