Angola: Literary Prizes Are Part of Governmental Policies - Culture Minister

The book prize "António Jacinto" and "Jardim do Livro Infantil", promoted by the Ministry of Culture, are among the priority actions of the of government as part of its cultural policies.

This was said by the minister of culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva, at the ceremony of handing over the awards in the ambit of the Sagrada Esperança Book Prize, held on Friday, in Luanda.

According to the official, the cultural policies highlight literature as a privileged way for the transmission of ideas, dissemination of values, knowledge, experience and stimulus to creativity.

Rosa Cruz e Silva praised the partnership establish between the Ministry of Culture and the Dr. Agostinho Neto Foundation , established in 2011, adding that with the support of Bank Totta Angola it was possible to re-launch the mentioned prize in a new version.
