State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Yinager Dessie, received on Friday (March 7) Mrs. Catherine Muwangi, the newly-appointed Kenyan Ambassador to Ethiopia who presented a copy of her credentials. Dr. Yinager expressed his congratulations to Mrs. Catherine Muwangi on her appointment and praised the friendly relations the two countries enjoy.
He noted that cooperation that had been established in all fields and stressed that both sides should promote and consolidate this in the areas of peace, security, infrastructure, energy and other shared interests to improve the lives and livelihoods of their peoples.
He underlined that Ethiopia was ready to accelerate and expand in-depth its partnership with Kenya to bring tangible and practical results. Ambassador Muwangi said very pleased to serve as the Ambassador of Kenya to Ethiopia. She said she was delighted with the continuous development of Kenya-Ethiopia bilateral relations and their regional cooperation. She said Kenya was committed to extend its existing bilateral ties with Ethiopia to greater heights. Dr. Yinager expressed the hope that both sides would continue to join hands in bringing sustainable development, peace and stability in the Horn of Africa.
