Eritrea: Health Station in Halib-Mentel Rendering Commendable Service

Elaber'ed — The inhabitants of Halib-Mentel and Endirba Administrative areas in Elabered sub-zone have expressed satisfaction with the services the health station there is rendering. They further indicated that it has made positive impact as regards promoting community wellbeing, especially control of communicable and non-communicable diseases.

Accordingly, child and mother mortality rate is on the decline in the area.

Among the inhabitants, Mr. Akte Meskel, Mr. Okbalidet Tesfagergish, Ms. Awsaena Adhana and Samuel Andom indicated that intensive promotional activities have been conducted in a bid to raise community awareness as regards communicable diseases. They also lauded the maternity service being rendered by the health center.

Ms. Zafu Mosazgi, Head of the health center, disclosed that it is rendering maternity, First Aid, VCT, child immunization and other services, and that there is a plan to expand its infrastructural scope, in addition to the putting in place of a laboratory and waiting room for the pregnant.
