Ethiopian Flight Operations Head Resigns

Vice president of the Ethiopian Airlines Flight Operations, Captain Desta Zeru has resigned from his post due to personal reasons as of this month. In a statement sent to The Reporter, Ethiopian said Captain Desta Zeru left his position for personal reasons but will remain with the airline as a line pilot. Ethiopian has appointed a new head of flight operations, Captain Yohannes Hailemariam, effective March 3, 2014.

Captain Yohannes is a graduate of the Ethiopian Pilot Training School and has over 30 years of experience. He joined the airline in 1984 and served in various capacities including director flying and training as well as serving as captain of the B777 and check airman before assuming his new position. The airline said Yohannes will continue the work of his predecessor and successful implementation of the Ethiopian fast, profitable and successful growth strategic road map vision 2025.
