Liberia: Worried Over Accountability - Retired UMC Bishop Blasts Bong Lawmakers

The retired Bishop of the United Methodist Church, Arthur Kulah, on Sunday in Gbarnga expressed worry over the lack of accountability and transparency for the usage of the Bong County social development fund, saying the situation is responsible for the massive underdevelopment of the county.

Bishop Kulah, who was an observer at the just ended county development sitting in Gbarnga, said he was stunned to notice that the Lawmakers of the county allotted US$5,000 each as 'sitting fees' despite the incompletion of the Bong Technical College and the failure to sustain electrification in Gbarnga.
