Maputo — Mozambican Defence Minister Filipe Nusi said on Wednesday that the Mozambican defence and security forces only enter into clashes with gunmen of the former rebel movement Renamo in response to Renamo attacks.
He was answering questions from journalists who asked whether it was true, as Renamo had claimed, that Mozambican forces had attack Renamo bases in the Gorongosa mountain range, in the central province of Sofala, with “weapons of mass destruction” last week.
