Ghana: Victims Trapped as Building Collapses

Accra — At least five people were trapped after an eight-storey uncompleted hotel at Nii Boi Town outside Accra collapsed in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The immediate cause of the collapse has not been established and no deaths have been confirmed yet.

Eyewitnesses narrated that prior to the collapse, they saw a man come out of the hotel to brush his teeth.

He watched in shock as the building collapsed under his watch.

Personnel of Ghana Police Service and firemen and other rescue team were later at the site to rescue victims.

CAJ News gathered that the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) had stopped construction of the building because owners had no building permit.
