A Buhera man beat to death his 16-year-old daughter after accusing her of stealing R7 last Friday. Spiwe Muchenje, who was accused of stealing R2 from a friend and R5 from her father, died from injuries she sustained after the beating.
National police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident which occurred at Chisa Village under Chief Nyashanu. He said Spiwe left for school and when she returned, her father wanted to beat her up, but she fled to a nearby homestead.
