Libya has threatened to attack a North Korean ship over seized oil.

The Foreign Ministry has denied the sailing of a North Korean-flagged tanker into the Egyptian territorial water after fleeing Libya in defiance of the government.

In a statement issued Thursday night, the ministry denied reports claiming the arrival of the ship to Egyptians harbors or its territorial waters.

The ministry also reaffirmed that out of Egypt's belief in safeguarding Libya's unity and stability and protecting its natural resources and its respect to the international laws and ties with the Arab country, it will take all the necessary legal measures towards the ship should it sail into the country's territorial water.

On Wednesday, Libyan government announced failed attempt to disable the vessel asking Egypt to help stop it after it had loaded crude oil from a Libyan rebel-held port.
