Eritrea: Renovation of Dirt Road Linking Mendefera, Kudo-Felasi, Der'anto Underway

Mendefera — Reports indicated that renovation of the 7-Km. dirt road that has been a major problem for vehicles linking Mendefera, Kudo-Felasi and Der'anto is underway.

Among the community members, Mr. Berhane Hadege and Mr. Haile Habteyonas voiced appreciation for the initiative taken by the sub-zonal Administration of Mendefera, and said that they would step up participation in the process.

Mr. Emahatsion Kalab, Administrator of Kudo-Felasi area, said that the road has vital importance leading to the Holy Place of Deranto which is frequented by people from different parts of the country, and that the initiative has been taken in line with this.

Mr. Efrem Solomon and Mr. MerhawiAsmerom, both in charge of the Project's follow-up, stated that the renovation is being handled by ASBECO Construction Company, and that the community members have mobilized a total of 10 trucks to speed up the process.

Meanwhile, the inhabitants of the area are engaged in soil and water conservation undertakings.
